Coalition and advocacy

Working across disciplines toward ethical access.

Heart Stone is developing in collaboration with multidisciplinary coalitions and advocates working to expand careful, evidence-informed access to novel and innovative treatments.

Our advocacy is especially concerned with Veterans and first responders living with PTSD, moral injury, and treatment-resistant conditions who have exhausted conventional options.

Federal legislation

Freedom to Heal Act of 2025

Introduced by Senators Cory Booker and Rand Paul, with companion legislation led by Representatives Madeleine Dean and Nancy Mace, the bipartisan Freedom to Heal Act (S. 3346 / H.R. 6434) would create a narrow DEA special-registration pathway for qualified physicians to administer eligible Schedule I investigational therapies under the federal Right to Try law.

The proposed pathway would apply only to eligible patients with life-threatening conditions who have exhausted approved treatment options. It includes physician, treatment-site, state-law, manufacturer, and anti-diversion requirements.

The Freedom to Heal Act has been introduced in Congress and is not currently law. It would not broadly legalize or reschedule these medicines.

Our mission

A place for the whole person.

Heart Stone Center is being created to support people living with trauma, PTSD, depression, moral injury, and conditions that have not responded to conventional treatment.

Our clinical understanding is in conversation with eco-psychology, depth psychology, and longstanding traditions of communal healing. We make room for the body, culture, spirit, and the stories people carry across generations.

Our vision

Care that remembers the whole person.

We imagine spaces where people are met as whole human beings, with cultural identity, lived experience, and the wisdom they already carry.

Lasting healing also asks us to look at the environments and systems that cause harm. Our hope is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities while helping create more humane ways of living together.

What is yours to carry, what is yours to let go of and what is yours to give?

“All real living is meeting.”

Community mental health

Service, advocacy, and program development.

Heart Stone grows from years of clinical service alongside Veterans, first responders, and families living with complex trauma and moral injury.

Our work includes community mental health care, family systems programming, psychoeducation, advocacy, and coalition building.

We are committed to developing programs in conversation with the people they are meant to serve. That means listening closely, working across disciplines, strengthening local networks, and building ethical pathways to care where gaps remain.
